FAQs

  • What does " All-Day" mean?

It all depends on you....it could start  with  your hair appointment, or make-up, and could end late into the evening after the toasts, dinner, the cake, the dances, the bouquet, and the garter.

  • Does the multi-hour coverage include the time it takes to get from one location to another?

Yes, it includes from the time you want me to start until the end of the coverage time.

  • What if we end up wanting you to stay past our contracted number of hours?

We charge $100 per additional 15 minutes. For example, if your coverage is contracted to end at 8:00p.m., and I am still working at 9:15, you will be billed an additional $500, due before your proof DVD is sent out.

  • Do you have a back-up camera?

I always shoot with two cameras, both Canons. Usually, one has a shorter zoom lens and the other has a very long zoom lens. The lenses are interchangeable and I also have several additional lenses.

  • What distance do you cover for weddings?

We are located in Ypsilanti, Michigan, which is the SE part of Michigan. The area that we cover is  west to US-127, north to I-696, east to the water, and south to approximately Toledo. There may be exceptions to this, but that is the norm.

  • Do you charge travel fees or distance fees?

We do not charge travel or distance fees within the area mentioned in the previous answer. However, for  requests to cover an event outside of that area or a two-day event, we will bill for mileage/hotel stay, whichever is applicable for each particular job. That information would be included in your  contract.

  • Are taxes included in your prices?

Taxes are not included in the prices listed, but will be added on invoices/contracts for clients residing in Michigan.

  • What is your back-up plan if some emergency arises and you are unable to cover our event?

I have never yet missed an event. However, I have two photographers who previously worked for me. Depending on much time there is prior to your event, we would work with you to find a suitable replacement photographer agreeable to both you and us, whether those who previously worked with me, or one from a different company. Another option would be to give you a full refund for you to find another photographer on your own.

  • How do we hire you to photograph our wedding?

We can meet or we can send you a contract in the mail for you to return. Once we have 1/4 of your balance as a retrainer with your signed contract, we are reserved for your date.

  • What is the payment schedule?

1/4 of your balance to hold your date 1/4 due 30 days before your wedding 1/4 due on/by your wedding day Final 1/4 before your DVD is sent. Should you decide to order an album after your wedding, you will be responsible for paying the full amount before your album order is placed.

  • How do you decide which pictures go in our album?

For the iMount album, since there is one photograph per page, you provide a list of which pictures you would like in your album.

For the Asuka album or the Zook Book, because each page is designed individually, you provide a list of the pictures you like best. We then layout the pages and show you a proof of your album. If there are any changes to be made, we make those changes before sending your order to the album company.

  • When will we see our proofs after our wedding and when will we receive our Proof DVD?

Your proofs will be posted online approximately one  month  after your wedding. After your proofs have been loaded online and you have paid your balance in full, your proof DVD will be sent out to you.

  • Do we get plain proofs or are they retouched?

Every proof you see has been processed and retouched. That is why it takes a few weeks for you to see them. The amount of time it takes is also affected by how many hours we photographed and how many proofs we start with.

  • Do we get to see every picture that was taken?

You will see approximately 75% of the pictures taken. Often, like with portraits, we'll take several identical shots, in order to best ensure that we get a good picture with everyone's eyes open for example. There are usually other shots, candids possibly, where someone blinked or turned right as the picture was snapped, causing a blurred picture. So, you will see approximately 3/4 of the pictures taken. The numbers estimated in each package listed above reflects the final number of proofs that you'll see and receive. You will receive all the proofs that you see posted on your proof website.

  • What forms of payment do you accept? Can we pay with a credit card?

When your payments are due, we will email you an invoice letting you know what amount is due. Currently  we  accept  payment  by  check or cash.

  • How do we schedule  an  appointment  if we are interested in looking at sample albums and discussing your services for our wedding?

We prefer to come to you or meet halfway. We usually meet with potential clients at bookstores, coffee houses, restaurants, etc. We also are happy to come to your home, office, or another place that's most convenient for you. Depending on the time of year, distance, time of day, day of the week, weather, etc., we can work with your schedule to meet during the day, in the evening, or on weekends.

  • Do you shoot film or digitally?

We only shoot digitally. Your proofs will most likely contain a mix of color, black and white, and possibly spot-colored photographs. There will also most likely be a mix of shots including candid, journalistic, and portraits. The proofs we provide for you may  be  affected  by  the  following:  the amount of time we photograph your event, the type of event it is, any rules of the facility, officiant, and your preferences, as far as your likes and dislikes.
